
Faye Psychopaidopoulou is a visual artist, a musician, and a theatrοlogist. She lives and works in Athens, Greece. She is a graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts and of the Department of Theatre Studies – National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. As a musician, she holds diplomas from the National Conservatory of Athens, from the École Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot,” and a Master’s Degree (MA) from the Department of Music Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, specializing in the morphological analysis of twentieth-century music and, as a pianist, in the performance of the western classical music’s repertoire.
She is an active member of the visual arts group, Kri.Ni., formed and functioning with the guidance and curation of the art curator, art historian and visual artist, Niovi Kritikou. Furthermore, she is a member of the visual arts group Hexagon, and also of the EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association), and the Athens Theatre Association.
Her artistic practice varies, including painting, collage, video, soundscapes, musical performance and composition, poetry, narration and theatrical performance. Her aim is to uncover realms of repressed instincts, existential quests, and childhood experiences. Her research is deeply intuitive. She seeks hidden childhood treasures while exploring the unconscious, dreams, religions, and metaphysics. She has presented two solo exhibitions. In 2025, she presented her solo exhibition Horizontal Constellations at the Mets Arts Center, curated by Niovi Kritikou. In 2023 she presented the Chamber Dreams solo exhibition at Eos Gallery.
She has participated in group art exhibitions in Greece and abroad. Internationally, she took part in the group exhibition OPERA OUT OF OPERA II at the immersive rooms of the Rome Opera House in 2024 (organized by Santa Cecilia), as well as in the IV International Exhibition of Scenery of “A.I. Kuindzhi Memorial”, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the birth of Arkhyp Ivanonych Kuindzhi (2021), at the Museum of Arts named after A.I. Kuindzhi in Mariupol, Ukraine. In Greece, the most recent participation was at the group exhibition Taximia: In the Tradition of the Greek Mode – From History to Contemporary Painting, dedicated to the memory of Fotis Kontoglou, at the “Melina” Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens (January 8–31, 2026), curated by Niovi Kritikou. In 2024, she participated in the residency program Greek Light: An Artistic Journey at the Mets Arts Center (July 14–25), followed by a group exhibition. Earlier group exhibitions include the first exhibition of the Hexagon Group, MEETING POINT, at Circuits & Currents in Athens (2022), as well as the group’s exhibition The Joy of Life at ArteVisione Art Space (2022).
As a performance artist, in 2026, she participated in a dual role as a composer as well as a performer in the Performance Festival PERASMATA II at the Bagkeion Hotel.
She is an enthusiast of arts’ cross sections.In 2019 in collaboration with Emmanuel Koutsourelis, she presented live at “Trito Programma” (Third Programme of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corp. ERA) her art videos and soundscapes, and performed avant-garde piano works for the live music performance “Dante Allighieri’s, Rime Petrose” . In 2019, June the 8th, on World Oceans Day, as a pianist/ theatrologist she narrated the tragic story of Shakespeare’s Ophelia, while performing melodies by Fr. Liszt, Cl. Debussy, M. Ravel and Valerio Matola’s, Visioni Fuggitive. At the same event, her art videos on the theme of the sea and the Oceanids were being projected, as well as photographic material from underwater photos by Valerio Matola. The event was also accompanied by videos from the NGOs, Archelon and WWF, while free information brochures were distributed to the public.As an illustrator, she has worked for the Gutenberg and Rodakio publication houses. Moreover, she has created a mural painting for a UNICEF project for foreign students at an Athens school. As an educator she has organised various exhibitions, music concerts and theatre plays in public spaces for her students.
As a musician, she has appeared in the “Live Broadcasts of the Third Programme” of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERA3) and has performed chamber music works with N. Patrikidou at the “Little Paris of Athens” festival and other music scenes, as well as with the composer and violinist, Petros Christidis, in his own works on ERA3, in the aula of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and in other music scenes in Athens. In 2023 she appeared live on stage at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaron, Τrianti Hall) with Nova Opera.
She has also collaborated – as a music producer and actress – with the Third Programme, by producing the radio show series “When Myth met Painting” and by playing the leading role of Sophia at the award-winning radio play, A Grandmother Will Save Us, by N. Siskas, directed by Leda Dimitriou. Αs an assistant director she collaborated with director and actor Vasilis Lagos at his theater, Askitirion Technis.
